Six Nations dilemma for Warren Gatland over Wales' Dwayne Peel

Dwayne Peel

Wales coach Warren Gatland faces a scrum-half dilemma ahead of the Six Nations.

Dwayne Peel limped out of Sale Sharks' 36-19 Heineken Cup defeat at Cardiff Blues on Saturday with a groin strain, and will have a scan today

Peel was set to start for Wales against England in their Six Nations opener at Twickenham on February 6, with Lions scrum-half Mike Phillips still out injured

Phillips has not fully recovered from a foot ligament injury, while Blues' Gareth Cooper is out of form.

With Gatland set to announce his squad today at 1pm, uncapped Blues scrum-half Richie Rees has been tipped to get the call.

Llanelli Scarlets' Martin Roberts and Wayne Evans of Newport Gwent Dragons are Gatland's other scrum-half options, although Evans is currently out until early February with a knee injury.
